PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT
As a member of the PLA, Wolvey Pre-School recognises parents as the first and most important educators of their children. All of the staff see themselves as co-workers with you in providing care and education for your child. There are many ways in which parents take part in making the pre-school a welcoming and stimulating place for children and parents , such as:
- exchanging knowledge about their child's needs & interests with the staff.
- helping out at sessions of the pre-school.
- sharing their own special interests with the children.
- helping to provide & maintain the equipment used by the children.
- being part of the management of the pre-school.
- providing input to the plans for the pre-school and its curriculum.
- joining in community activities in which the pre-school takes part.
- building friendships with other parents in the pre-school.
Wolvey Pre-School is managed by a committee of parents. If you are interested in joining our committee, please contact us or come along to the next meeting. The committee meetings are held monthly - please see the notice board for details of the next meeting. We really do need your support in order to stay open. If you can spare the time please come along. This is the community's pre-school and by joining the committee you can have your say in how you think it should be run.
We like to have affiliated committee members or trustees to ease the hand over process from one committee to the next. Do you have, or do you know anyone locally who has, time to spare to help with the administration of the committee and/or its treasury ? If so, please contact us.
HELP ROTA
The help rota is a voluntary rota used to cover unplanned staff absence such as illness, which can't be covered by the staff swapping shifts. These unforeseen eventualities are rare but we need the rota in place to prevent the pre-school from closing at such times. Any parent can be on the help rota. You do not have to be CRB checked, nor do you need to be on the pre-school committee.
Helping at a session enables you to see what the day-to-day life of the pre-school is like and to join in helping the children to get the best out of their activities.

JOINING IN
You can offer to take part in a session by talking about your work or sharing you own interests and skills with the children.
